Reno Shelter Closed After Missing Copper Causes Flooding

RENO, Nev. (AP) — An overflow shelter in the Reno area has been closed after apparent copper theft.

KTVN-TV reports that Volunteers of America Northern Nevada Regional Director Pat Cashell says volunteers discovered the missing copper after the building began flooding.

Cashell says the building does not have water or power for the 120 people who were staying there.

The shelter says it is doing everything possible to find a new location. The location of the current shelter is kept secret.
