LAS VEGAS (AP) — MGM Resorts International will begin outsourcing hundreds of part-time jobs at its three arenas and event centers on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Las Vegas Sun reports casino company spokesman Clark Dumont says four companies will be brought in to handle "on-call positions" at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the Mandalay Bay Events Center and the T-Mobile Arena, which opens in April. The transition starts Friday.
Dumont says the move will allow MGM Resorts to focus its efforts on running hotels and booking entertainment.
The 300 part-time jobs affected by the transition include conversion technicians, ushers, stagehands and riggers. The employees will now work for We Serve, PrideStaff, Rhino and 3G.
MGM Resorts also announced last week it would outsource parking operations and valet staff to SP Plus Corp.
