Switch To Open Data Center In Thailand

Las Vegas-based data company Switch is expanding to Asia.

Vegas Inc. reports that Switch's entity SUPERNAP International, which was formed in partnership with investors from ACDC Fund, announced Thursday that it has begun building a $300 million data center in Thailand.

SUPERNAP International CEO Khaled Bichara says the center will be a copy of SUPERNAP facilities in Las Vegas and is expected to be completed in early 2017.

Switch is also building centers in Reno and Milan, Italy.

The company provides services to corporations including DreamWorks, eBay and Google as well as Las Vegas-based companies, MGM Resorts and Zappos.
