Pneumonia Found In Arizona Bighorn Sheep

Pneumonia has been found in a population of bighorn sheep in northwest Arizona.

The Mohave Daily News reports Arizona Fish and Game found the disease in sheep living in the Black Mountains.

In December, three ewes from three different herds were tested for pneumonia, and all showed characteristics of the ailment.

The state says laboratory testing shows the strain of pneumonia found in the sheep is the same as a strain that led to an outbreak in California in 2013 and in Nevada in 2015.
