Nevada In Last Place In State Education Rankings

Nevada is now in last place in an important ranking of state school education systems. The state has been near the bottom of the rankings for years.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the state scored lower than all other states and Washington, D.C. for the first time on the newest Quality Counts Report.

The report determines states' standing on their K-12 schools’ financing and student performance.

The study also looks beyond on the school, ranking states on a student's chance of success. Under those conditions, which are based on criteria that include parents’ education levels, income and language skills, Nevada has been at the bottom for the past seven years.
