The Nevada Department of Wildlife is seeking information about a poaching that took place in Lincoln County in August.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports NDOW says a bull elk was killed near Pearson Ranch in the middle of the night and left to waste.
Both hunting an animal at night and leaving its meat to waste are crimes in Nevada, as is big game poaching.
