Nevada Jobless Rate Falls To 6.7 Percent, A 7-Year Low

CARSON CITY — Nevada’s unemployment rate inched down to 6.7 percent in September, the lowest in seven years.

The national jobless rate sits at 5.1 percent.

Nevada’s September rate was down from 6.8 percent in August, according to the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

“We remain on pace to reach our prerecessionary record levels of employment in mid-2016,” Gov. Brian Sandoval said.

The news marks the 55th straight month that the unemployment rate has dropped year-over-year, and is the lowest rate since July 2008.
