Dash Pass Returns To Some Nevada DMV Offices

Nevada officials are partially bringing back a program that lets people check into the DMV line by smartphone before they physically arrive at the office.

The Department of Motor Vehicles announced Friday that the Dash Pass remote check-in option will be available at the Reno office starting Nov. 2. That office is also doing a test run of a system that allows people to book appointments ahead of time.

The agency suspended Dash Pass remote check-in capabilities at its busiest urban offices in July, saying no-shows using the service were contributing to higher wait times.

Since then, the agency added more than 100 new employees and urban office wait times declined 65 percent compared with June.

DMV officials haven't announced plans for bringing appointments and remote-check to Las Vegas.
