Ominous Christmas Card, Burning Device Left For Carson Judge

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Carson City deputies are offering a $2,000 reward for information about who placed an incendiary device near a judge's home this spring.

Sheriff Kenny Furlong said multiple law enforcement agencies have been investigating since the burning object was placed at Justice of the Peace John Tatro's home early the morning of May 13. It eventually burned out and didn't damage the home.

Tatro also received an ominous Christmas card in December that included the message, "You will die." Someone shot at his home in December 2012, but nobody was injured.

Deputies have released video clips depicting an apparent suspect and a car linked to the May incident.

Furlong said investigators have sifted through Tatro's past court cases, but have not identified any obvious links between his rulings and the threats.
