LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Nevada Supreme Court plans to have a new Las Vegas address by 2017, in a building due to be built for it near the Clark County Regional Justice Center.
The Las Vegas City Council this week approved plans for the new courthouse at the corner of 4th Street and Clark Avenue.
It'll be built by EHB Companies, the company that constructed the Tivoli Village shopping center and nearby One Queensridge Place high-rise condominiums in the Summerlin area.
The Supreme Court and Nevada Court of Appeals plans to lease the building's 26,000-square-feet of courtroom and office space.
That'll be an expansion from 15,000-square-feet of leased space on the 17th floor of the Justice Center.
Officials say the 25-year lease will save about $400,000 in rent payments over the next decade.
