Las Vegas’ film festival schedule has grown significantly over the last 25 years, one of many signs that the city may become a Hollywood East industry outpost. One event that’s helped bolster our film-fest bona fides is the Nevada Women’s Film Festival, which celebrates 10 years this June, and serves up a robust program of 100-plus films by and about women — as well as live interviews, parties and awards ceremonies. This year’s host venue is UNLV’s Department of Film — a fitting setting given the festival’s start as a student club and its ongoing commitment to highlighting and supporting young women filmmakers.
