Well, whaddya know. Nevada's near-apocalyptic, neighborhood-swallowing foreclosure crisis could have been stemmed a teensy bit by a little, oh, information about vital programs to prevent your house being bagged by your friendly neighborhood corporate bank.
Despite efforts to the contrary, there still is a major divide between homeowners in danger of losing their homes and the resources available to help them avoid foreclosure. A recent study found that more than half the Nevadans facing foreclosure didn't know anything about federal and state programs aimed at helping them. Furthermore, almost as many said their lenders were "not willing at all" to work with them.
