NV Adds Extra Health Insurance Enrollment Period

Nevada officials are adding a special six-week enrollment period so people who realize they can be fined for going uninsured can fix their situation.

Nevada Health Link officials say people who notice they'll be fined as they prepare to file their taxes can sign up from March 15 to April 30. They will still have to pay any fines they owe for 2014.

People who were uninsured in 2014 will be fined $95 per adult or 1 percent of their income under the Affordable Care Act. That fine will rise in 2015 to $325 per adult or 2 percent of personal income, whichever is greater.
