No Daylight Savings Time For Arizona

A lawmaker's proposed legislation to bring daylight saving time to Arizona won't be seeing the light of day in the state Legislature.

State Rep. Phil Lovas pulled back on House Bill 2014 a day before Monday's opening of the legislative session.

The bill called for moving Arizona to Mountain Daylight Time.

Lovas says he made the proposal after hearing from people in the business community about the challenges of Arizona not changing time zones.

The Peoria Republican says a majority of the feedback he has received since then has been in opposition to the bill.

Lovas says he will ask the House speaker to hold the bill indefinitely. That essentially kills it.
