McCarran Gets New Monterrey, Mexico Connection

VivaAerobus officials say the airline is again flying nonstop between Las Vegas and Monterrey, Mexico.

The airline said Friday it will offer the flights four days a week — on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday.

VivaAerobus returns after dropping Las Vegas as a destination in January 2013.

The airline's arrival at McCarran International Airport nearly doubles the number of possible passengers traveling from Monterrey to Las Vegas compared with a year ago.

There were six nonstop flights a week last December. Now there are 11 weekly nonstop flights.

Interjet, Aeromexico and Magnicharters also fly between Las Vegas and Monterrey.

Vegas tourism officials say travelers from Mexico are the second largest group among international visitors to the destination.

VivaAerobus says fares start at $99 one-way.
