The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas will let you name your own price when you adopt one of the nearly 400 animals at their shelter, with the offer beginning Friday and running through next Wednesday, the 26th. It’s for any dog or cat 1 year old and up. Want an older pet? The Animal Foundation is waiving adoption fees for dogs and cats 5 years and older through Nov. 30 in celebration of Adopt a Senior Pet Month.

Jay Bartos joined Nevada Public Radio in 1993 to develop and manage the state’s first radio reading service for people unable to use standard printed material due to blindness or another disability. After the reading service was discontinued in 2011, he became the afternoon host on KNPR for ten years. Jay can now be heard on air on News 88.9 KNPR and Classical 89.7 KCNV throughout the week.
