Judge Sets Bail For Steven Brooks

A judge in Las Vegas Thursday set $50,000 bail and ordered house arrest for former Nevada state assemblyman Steven Brooks.  Brooks is held on felony and misdemeanor allegations that he tried to grab a police officer's gun during a domestic dispute call in February 2013. He’s also being held on $100,000 bail on a firearms charge stemming from a January 2013 arrest. It wasn't immediately clear if Brooks could post the money for his release before an Aug. 18 status check and an Aug. 21 preliminary hearing.

Brooks was returned in custody to Las Vegas this week after serving time in jail in California for a freeway chase and subsequent fight with police in March 2013.
