North Las Vegas government is getting into the landlord game. This week Mayor John Lee announced two nonprofits will rent office space in city hall. The new tenants include The Nevada Affordable Housing Assistance Corporation and Home Means Nevada. Both organizations help distressed homeowners.
The nine-story city hall building was planned before the recession gutted North Las Vegas' budget and staff. Portions of the building have remained unused while the city fought to stave off a state takeover of its finances.
