FAA Greenlights Drones In Nevada

Drones will soon launch into Nevada airspace, officially, now that the Federal Aviation Administration has given the green light. Yesterday FAA officials granted Nevada a two-year certificate of authorization to use drones at a Southern Nevada airport. The plans are for the first drones to go up at the U.S. Department of Energy owned Desert Rock Airport in Mercury, Nevada later this summer. They will be used in mock emergency exercises.

FAA officials expect this sort of activity will help create regulations for commercial drone use in the future.
