California Chrome is on the cusp of destiny. He might have the best chance in more than three decades to win the three legs of the Triple Crown. That feat has not been accomplished since Affirmed won all three races in 1978. But can this horse of very undistinguished breeding pull it off. Not if he's like today's race horses that aren't bred for the longer distance and don't have the stamina for the running in three big races in a little over a month, says Mike Pesca. That has not stopped California Chrome becoming an odds-on favorite for the Saturday race. So can he do it?
