For years, the Clark County Commission has been struggling with the finances at the University Medical Center. As the public hospital of last resort, UMC ends up with many people who have no insurance and cannot pay for their care. Officials have examined various solutions to fix those financial problems.Last week, commissioners decided to appoint a new board to oversee most of the major decisions at the hospital.
