Poker and Drugs

A recent study by Kevin Clauson, associate professor at Nova Southeastern University's College of Pharmacy demonstrates what was already suspected - almost three quarters of surveyed poker players admit to using stimulants - some as benign as caffeine from coffee and energy drinks - to pharmaceuticals like Valium as well as illegal narcotics such as cocaine and amphetamines. We talk to the author of this study and discuss the dichotomy of the poker players he reviewed as well as a pioneer in the field of gaming addictions.
