Suspect In Police Shootout Dies Of Injuries

The man police say killed two neighbors and shot at his mother before engaging Las Vegas police in a gunbattle has died of his injuries.

The Clark County coroner's office says 31-year-old James Craig Simpson was pronounced dead on Friday at University Medical Center. His cause of death is listed as complications from gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.

Simpson was shot on March 31 after his mother called police, saying he was behaving erratically and had a gun. She told police he shot 31-year-old neighbor Branden Hughes and attacked Hughes' mother, Felicia Simone Wimberly-Hughes, as they approached the open garage door.
