UNLV Seeking Approval For New Gaming Center

UNLV says its new International Center for Gaming Regulation is set for review and approval by the state.

Officials said Friday in a statement that it will work with lawmakers, regulators, law enforcement and the gaming industry to offer research and information and promote best practices.

The center partners up the university's International Gaming Institute and William S. Boyd School of Law.

Sponsor Message

UNLV said it's setting itself up to be a leader in the global gaming forum as the market grows in Asia, Latin America and eastern Europe.

It will be funded through a $500,000 annual allocation approved last year by state lawmakers and Gov. Brian Sandoval, as well as private sponsorships.

Approval for the center is expected this year by the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents.
