Inspired by folklore and a mission to tell stories, Sarah Nguyen hopes to bring back the essence of childhood through her work. Sometimes her art is colorful, other times it remains simple. But, the real shine doesn't come from the color. Though she is considered a "multi-media artist," her story telling translates mainly through paper craft. With each cut, one can see how much time Nguyen takes with her process. Her goal is to not necessarily create new narratives, but to form fresher perspectives on cultural memories. The exhibition opens Friday, Sept. 27, and the artist will participate in a virtual talk on Oct. 1.
