World Food Championships

Nov. 7-10. Now in its second year, this four-day cook-off features more than 500 competitors ranging from celebrity chefs to avid home cooks. They’ll put on their aprons and square off in popular food categories such as burgers, barbecue, side dish, chili, dessert and, of course, bacon. Held on Fremont Street and the Fremont East Entertainment District, this year’s competition features the Ultimate Bacon Experience, a tasting that boasts these chefs’ best culinary creations from everyone’s favorite part of the pork. New Vista’s Brew’s Best Hand-Crafted Beer Festival

Nov. 9. Local and regional breweries come together to show off their best brews, including local favorites such as Boulder Dam Brewing Company, Ellis Island Casino, Gordon Biersch, as well as regional players such as Left Coast Brewers and Mendocino Brewers. Nov. 9. The 11th Annual Lee’s Wine Experience features more than 1,000 wines from France, Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina, the U.S., and more. A silent auction featuring everything from gift baskets to wine getaways supports Lee’s Helping Hand, which goes to help Las Vegas charities. $50-$60, LVH.
