Our cars, our trucks ... we can’t live without them. But they are many times the object of so much pain, turmoil and angst.

There are the little things — brake pads, burned-out fuses, eroded wiper blades — and the big things, like gaskets, alternators, fuel injectors.

And we’re just driving. We don’t really know what’s going on under the hood when we hear strange noises.
