Clark County Sheriff and Nevada Gov.-elect Joe Lombardo gives a victory speech during a news conference, Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, in Las Vegas. Lombardo ran against incumbent Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak.

Gov. Joe Lombardo’s administration recently released its version of a new state climate plan roughly a year and a half after he pulled his Democratic predecessor’s strategy to addressing carbon emissions.

The new plan calls for a focus on energy production and economic development, but will that be enough to help slow the impacts of climate change?
