Donny Osmond shaves a man's head in Las Vegas' St. Baldrick's event in 2023.

This weekend, many people will be wearing green, trying to jump and click their heels, saying “top of the mornin',” and drinking green beer.

All in celebration of Sunday’s St. Patrick’s Day.

A lot of people will also be shaving their heads to fight childhood cancer.

It’s called St. Baldrick’s Day (a mashup of “bald” and “St Patrick’s”). On that day, cities and businesses throughout the country hold a special event where volunteers who have collected donors shave their heads.

Over 23 years, 470,000 heads have been shaved. Millions of dollars have been raised to fight cancer. Almost a half billion in research grants have been earned.

And this weekend, several businesses throughout Las Vegas will be holding St. Baldrick’s Day events.

Guest: Jason Wooge, director of retail operations, MGM/Cosmopolitan
