A couple of CPAs have gotten themselves in trouble with a short-sale scheme that seemingly allowed one of them to get rid of his mortgage.
But John L. Smith says they may not be punished for that scheme, which they were indicted for last week. Why? Well, they may be useful government witnesses to another investigation.
