Clark County Coroner: A Life With Death In Las Vegas

MIke Murphy

Clark County Coroner Mike Murphy has been dealing with death in Las Vegas for years. Now, he's leaving the office to help missing and exploited children.

The idea of death and dying scares many of us. No one really knows what’s to come in the hereafter—or if anything comes at all.

Those are just some of the questions Mike Murphy and his team at the Clark County Coroner’s Office deal with every day. Murphy has dealt with the fear and grief of thousands of county residents in his 13 years in charge of the coroner’s office.

But he’s leaving. Due largely to his decade-long effort to intensify county efforts to identify the unidentified bodies, the John and Jane Does who die here, he is taking a job with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
