"God-fearing" and "lawyer" aren't two sentiments typically associated together.
But Jay Young is both.
A Las Vegas attorney, Young is also a gospel singer who has sung with Gladys Knight for more than a decade. He recorded his own solo album in 2011.
Knight’s latest album, "Where My Heart Belongs," in which Young also sings, has the unusual honor of being on the top-40 charts in three music categories: gospel, R&B and hip-hop.
Young said he has been a singer since childhood. He auditioned for a part with Knight's troupe, sang a solo and began recording and touring with her in 2002.
Few of his fellow attorneys, he added, know about his singing career. At least, they didn't.
