Clark County is considering an overhaul of its sexual education curriculum, and parents are concerned.
For years, the district has used an abstinence-based program to teach students about biology and sex. But recently, they began asking parents about a comprehensive sexual education curriculum designed by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States.
Proponents of the new curriculum say that students need scientifically accurate information. But some parents believe the curriculum is too explicit and doesn't include enough information about relationships and emotional health.
So what is the best way to teach students about sex? And can one curriculum work for every school?
