The Life Of A Drone Pilot

Retired Lt. Colonel Bruce Black flew lethal predator drones over combat zones in Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan, but he did it from Creech Air Force base, about 50 miles from Las Vegas.

Living between normal suburban life and Middle Eastern warfare, Bruce often forgot he was in a small room outside Vegas as he bombed targets on the other side of the world.

While some have argued this type of remote warfare makes it too easy to kill without remorse, Bruce disagrees and chooses to remember the many lives he saved – rather than the ones he took.
