The Redistricting Battle

The politicians just gave up. Both Gov. Brian Sandoval and leaders in the Legislature decided to give up when no easy agreement appeared on how to carve up the state for four congressional seats and all the seats in the Legislature. Now a court in Carson City is figuring out who to appoint to help with the job. Judge James Todd Russell has floated an idea to use the county registrars but they have quickly given him the "Thanks, but no thanks." So what now? And should we think about a better way to draw up the electoral boundaries than toss it to a state judge?
