Has Maloof Lost the Palms?

The Palms Casino-Hotel is now owned by two hedge funds, Leonard Green & Partners LP and TPG Capital. Or at least, they own most of the property. George Maloof still owns a small percentage but the deal wipes out most of the casino's debt. So what difference will it make? Can the Palms still be the Palms if George Maloof is not in control? And what does this deal mean for the family's ownership of the Sacramento Kings? And will that city get a new basketball arena?
