This Michelin two-star temple to gourmet dining is one of the town's most expensive restaurants. But you can get an affordable sample of French master Guy Savoy's cuisine from the "Bubbles and Bites" menu in the Bubbles champagne lounge, which offers "small bite" portions of any two of 10 different dishes for $25. Options include signature items such as oysters in ice gelee, crispy veal sweetbreads with potato and black truffle chips, and the restaurant's famed artichoke and truffle soup.  The as-you-like-it options and warm service that set such a high standard six years ago are as welcoming as ever at this 2012 Restaurant of the Year award winner.

The 16th annual Desert Companion Restaurant Awards

    Dec 01, 2012

Downtown upstarts with fresh moves and fine-dining citadels on the Strip upending their own traditions — 2012 was a year of surprises, mashups and fertile chaos. The gastropub dished up a remix of the artisanal and casual; desserts refused their status as sweet epilogues and rushed the stage; and Vegas culinary institutions strove anew not to just meet a standard, but to forge a new one.

    Discretion advised

Experts weigh in on the most neglected dining utensil: etiquette

If only the Victorians could see us now. Not only do ladies no longer smile behind napkins, but before the meal is even over, people have checked in, Tweeted and reviewed the place on Yelp via their ever-handy smart phones.
