ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey lawmakers are considering loosening their sports betting restrictions to allow the owner of the Golden Nugget casino to accept bets on most National Basketball Association teams.
Tilman Fertitta, the owner of the Golden Nugget Casinos, has approached Caesars Entertainment about a possible merger.
Caesars has a market capitalization of $6.3 billion, and Fertitta’s net worth is pegged by Forbes magazine at $4.5 billion.
