Astroworld Festival calls to mind other rare but traumatic incidents at concerts and festivals throughout the last half-century. Here's a timeline of those tragedies.
At least 45 people were killed and some 150 injured in a crush at the gathering of ultra-Orthodox Jews in northern Israel, where tens of thousands had convened.
Officials say 120 people attended a party despite prohibitions on social gatherings, and tried to flee out of a single exit when police arrived to shut it down.
Most of those killed were minors attending a rap concert. Officials have not determined what caused the stampede, but there are reports of pepper spray being used inside of the club.
