RENO, Nev. (AP) — Blowing snow is creating poor visibility for travelers east and west of Reno as a winter storm makes its way into the Sierra Nevada, where a foot or more of snow is expected around Lake Tahoe by Wednesday night.

The latest storm to hit the Sierra has dropped a foot of snow on ski resorts around Lake Tahoe, with a couple of inches in the valleys and freezing fog that caused at least a dozen crashes on slippery roads from Reno to Fallon.
The storm that socked the Sierra Monday is moving across Nevada, dumping more than a foot of snow in northern Elko County, downing trees and power lines and temporarily closing a stretch of Interstate 80.
