A student at Palo Verde High School was arrested today after a gun was found in his backpack.

An administrator found a 9-millimeter gun and ammunition in the student’s backpack around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

NHP Drill Briefly Forces Las Vegas School Lock Down

Southeast Career Technical Academy was on a brief lockdown this morning after a heavy police presence was seen in the area.

According to Metro Police officials, Nevada Highway Patrol was conducting a drill in the area and troopers were demonstrating a felony car stop.
