Commerce Tax Backers Appealing To High Court After Setback

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Defenders of Nevada's new Commerce Tax are appealing to the Nevada Supreme Court to block a repeal effort.

Lawyers for the Coalition for Nevada's Future PAC filed a notice of appeal on Wednesday after a Carson City judge ruled against them earlier this month.

Judge Says Effort To Repeal Commerce Tax Can Proceed

A Carson City judge has ruled an effort to repeal the new Nevada Commerce Tax can move forward.

Judge James Wilson disagreed Wednesday with arguments from the Coalition for Nevada's Future, which sought to invalidate a petition that seeks to repeal the tax.
