Saturday is National Public Lands Day and both the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Lake Mead National Recreation Area will have free admission.

Admission to all Nevada state parks, including Valley of Fire State Park, will also be free.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Federal land managers are considering several ways to address overcrowding at a scenic natural area just a 30-minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip.

The Bureau of Land Management is considering raising the entrance fees for the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Las Vegas.

Currently, the park charges $7 for drivers and $3 for pedestrians, motorcyclists and bicyclists.
