County Commission Approves Funding For Red Rock Walk, Bike Trail

Feb 21, 2020

The Clark County Commission approved final funding for a 5.5-mile pedestrian and bicycle trail between Summerlin and Red Rock Canyon.

The $14.7 million trail would run from Sky Vista Drive in Summerlin to the Red Rock visitor center.

Las Vegas police Lt. Timothy Hatchett says the hiker had been with a group before the hiker fell about 160 feet from a trail on Thursday.

A rock climber at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has been found dead after a possible medical emergency.

Las Vegas police were called at 9:20 a.m. Thursday for a man reportedly suffering from a medical episode while climbing at the park near the first turn-out.
