Today marks the official change in seasons for Lake Mead and Red Rock. 

Certain trails and areas that have been closed for the summer months have reopened.

At Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Goldstrike Canyon and White Rock Canyon Trails will reopen.

Hiker's Body Found

A body found over the weekend at Red Rock National Conservation Area has been identified as Ron Kirk, the hiker missing since late January.  Over the past few weeks, Metro police, search and rescue teams, family, friends, and hundreds of volunteers have looked for Ron, holding out hope that the former Marine might still be alive.

Dinosaur Tracks Discovered at Red Rock

A group of hikers at Red Rock stumbled across the first ever confirmed dinosaur tracks in the state of Nevada. Footprints of a three toed dinosaur about the size of a large dog were confirmed by Bureau of Land Management paleontologists this month.
