SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — A bipartisan group of mourners is remembering longtime Nevada legislator Debbie Smith as a dedicated public servant, wife and mother.

The Reno-Gazette Journal reports hundreds attended a memorial for Smith on Sunday at Sparks High School.

SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — A memorial service has been scheduled this weekend for longtime Nevada legislator Debbie Smith.

The Democratic state senator died on Sunday at the age of 60. Doctors started treating her for a malignant brain tumor about a year ago.
