Early voting starts on Saturday and the candidates for Mayor of Las Vegas have solidified their stances on various city issues. But in the past week talks of a new arena in Las Vegas accelerated when Mayor Goodman said a deal could be in place this week.
Carolyn Goodman handily beat County Commissioner, Chris Giunchigliani in the mayoral election. One pundit called the race before any precincts reported when early voting numbers gave Goodman an insurmountable lead. Carolyn Goodman now has a month before she takes over for her husband Oscar Goodman in city hall. Goodman was the front runner from the time she entered the race and despite a few gaffes and numerous attack ads from her opponent she came out on top. So what are the new mayor's plans and what will the city look like with four more years of Goodman? Las Vegas Sun reporter, Delen Goldberg has followed the race from the start and she joins us to discuss the results of the race.
The campaign to become the next mayor of Las Vegas is almost over. On June seventh, Las Vegas voters will decide if it's Carolyn Goodman or County Commissioner, Chris Giunchigliani who will replace Oscar Goodman as mayor. Clark County Commissioner, Chris Giunchigliani announced she would join the race to replace term limited Mayor, Oscar Goodman. She joins a crowded list of candidates with a few high profile names including fellow County Commissioner, Larry Brown and Carolyn Goodman, Oscar Goodman's wife.
