    Last Riviera Tower To Be Imploded

    The last tower of the iconic Riviera Hotel and Casino is about to be reduced to rubble during an overnight implosion on the Las Vegas Strip.

    The planned 2 a.m. Tuesday demolition of the Monte Carlo wing comes two months after the taller Monaco tower was leveled the same way.

    Second Riviera Tower To Come Down Aug. 16

    There's another implosion planned for the Riviera Hotel and Casino.

    The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced Tuesday that the second tower at the iconic casino property on the northern end of the Strip will go down at 2 a.m. on Aug. 16.

    First Riviera Implosion Begins Tuesday

    The Riviera Hotel and Casino will officially exit the scene on Tuesday with a cinematic implosion, complete with fireworks.

    It was the Las Vegas Strip's first high-rise, and was as famous for its actual mobster ties as its Hollywood personification of Sin City's mobster past.
