Acting U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor and top State Department official George Kent testified in an open hearing Wednesday, the first of many to come in the impeachment inquiry.
Democrats have called three career public servants to appear for the first public hearings in the Trump impeachment inquiry: William Taylor, George Kent and Marie Yovanovitch.
"Politically related prosecutions ... undermine the rule of law," George Kent said in his deposition. The transcript of his interview with impeachment investigators was released on Thursday.
Former White House aide Fiona Hill told impeachment investigators on Monday that she and former Trump adviser John Bolton were troubled by actions by the president's private lawyer.
