Nevada Wildfire Expands, Prompts Voluntary Evacuations

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) — A lightning-caused wildfire in northern Nevada continues to grow, prompting officials to keep voluntary evacuations in place for areas near Gardnerville.

The Douglas County sheriff's office said the fire has now spread to 3,130 acres (13 square kilometers).

Prisoner To Face More Time In Jail For Brawl

Aug 26, 2015

A 32-year-old Gardnerville man already serving six months in jail for punching a man in the face is now looking at a much longer time behind prison bars after assaulting a fellow inmate.

Nicholas Langston was jailed in April on a battery charge.
